Hot sauce recalled in New York over risk of pressurization from fermentation

Mar 23, 2023

Brooklyn Delhi, of Brooklyn, NY, is recalling over 18,000 units of its "Ghost Pepper Hot Sauce" because the product may become pressurized from fermentation and pose a safety risk to consumers who may sustain injuries to their eyes, face, and hands when opening the bottles.

According to the details posted online by the Food and Drug Administration, the recall was initiated on April 27 and is ongoing. With some shelf lives ranging into 2026, there is concern that consumers may still have the products in their homes.

The recalled product was distributed in New York state.
